Hi! I’m Ellie! I was rescued as a stray in OK a few months ago. My foster family thinks that in my previous life I had a few litters of puppies. But that is all behind me, and at 8 years old I am ready for retirement from that job and am looking forward to my new job as your companion and best friend. I enjoy walks, romps in the yard and playtime, but my family says I am easy because I have an “off-switch.” Everyone who meets me describes me as a petite and very sweet girl. I have learned to walk on a leash, I love my crate and am house trained. I am still learning about treats and toys, and it’s been super fun to practice with them. I get along with the resident dogs in my foster home, but apparently, I’m too interested in the cat. Foster Mom says a cat free home would be best. I love to hang out with my people and be loved on. I do not jump on people, couches, or beds, but I do appreciate a cushy dog bed. I am a bit hard of hearing, I was probably a hunting dog at some point, but very attentive to you and have learned some hand signals to help me understand what you want. I enjoy a brisk walk twice daily, and happily snooze when my family is busy. I am not destructive in the house. My ideal home would be with or without other dogs but one where I can spend time with my family, get some exercise and be cherished for the great girl that I am. If you are looking for an easy and loving friend and companion, apply for me.
