London – 3 years old, located in OH
Dog ID: 240733-P-B-NC
Intake Date: 6/9/2024
Available Date: 6/23/2024

London arrived in Ohio from a North Carolina shelter where she had tested positive for heartworms. Once in foster care she was retested twice by her current veterinarian with negative results. She is an  affectionate young lady, most likely about 3 years of age, liver and white, medium energy level and has a “Velcro dog” kind of personality with humans. She has fun in water on hot days and requests something larger than a baby pool in her new home! Maybe she could be your new boating or swimming buddy. London likes fetching her tennis balls, Nylabone type chew toys and closely watching and pointing birds. She doesn’t like the sound of loud motorcycles and has a mild reaction to thunderstorms. Another dog in her family should be of similar size and energy level. The smaller dogs in her foster home do not appreciate her attempts at play with her paws and mouth. There are no cats in her foster home.
There may have been school aged children in her prior life. She greets the neighbor’s kids with enthusiasm and a wagging tail.
London is crated during the day while her foster mom is at work, fed in her crate and sleeps there at night. Going on walks is an activity she will need continued practice with using her harness, but she’s a great passenger on car rides. House accidents have been minimal considering she may not have lived in a house prior to rescue. Maintaining a schedule is key to success.
Her negative behavior is counter surfing in the kitchen. She’s a bit obsessed with food, so keeping her restricted from the kitchen when food is present and crated during family meals is best.
London is about 35 pounds, her coat condition and weight are improving with better nutrition.
Vaccines, flea/tick/heartworm preventions are current and she will be spayed prior to adoption.
Her foster mom would love to discuss London further with approved applicants.
