Hi! My name is Anchovie, and I’m on the hunt for my forever home!
I’m a big white goof who absolutely loves all hoomans—big and small. I get sooo excited when little ones are around that sometimes I forget they’re not my four-legged buddies. I might accidentally nip at little fingers or toes during play, but I’m not trying to be naughty—I just need a little more time and training to learn proper manners. I promise, my heart’s in the right place!
I already know all my basic commands, and I’m pretty good at following them—especially if food is involved.
My foster mom says I’ll do anything for a treat, and she’s absolutely right! I loooove food. Fruit is my favorite—apples, oranges, blueberries… even lemons! I’ve been known to sneak a lemon or two when no one’s looking (what can I say, I’m a LEMON pointer). My favorite time of day is when my mom gets home from work and shares some sweet apple slices or carrots with me before dinner.
Now, about that fruit basket on the table or counter…
Look, I try to be good, I really do—but if it’s left unattended, I can’t promise it won’t mysteriously disappear. I might have been a vegetarian in a past life.
Mom says I’m a smart and talented dog.
Besides being a professional fruit thief, I’m also a pro at chasing balls, birds, and cats. I just want to play, but for some reason, they always run away from me. So frustrating! And here’s a fun fact: I’m famous at the vet’s office… for my farts. One time, I let out such a stinker that even I looked around to see who did it. Spoiler alert—it was me. My vet thinks it’s adorable (she can’t be wrong, right?). I guess I’m just that stinking cute.
When I’m not busy being a goofball, I love to cuddle.
I’m a total couch hog and have fully claimed the sofa as mine. My dad keeps complaining, but I think he secretly loves it. He calls me a “space invader,” but I just call it quality bonding time.
So, what do you think—could I be the newest member of your pack?
I’ve got a big heart, a big personality, and a whole lot of love to give. I just need a home where I can keep learning, keep loving, and maybe sneak a fruit or two when no one’s looking.
Love,
Anchovie
Notes from Mom (AKA Anchovie’s biggest fan):
Anchovie is an absolutely adorable, sweet, and loving dog who will steal your heart the moment you meet him—seriously, guard your heart (and maybe your snacks). He’s the kind of dog who will look into your soul with those big eyes and make you forget he just ate your sandwich.
He’s great on walks when using a front-clip leash, and with a bit of training and consistency, he’s even done really well off-leash using the vibrate setting on an e-collar. He’s not just a good boy—he’s an adventure buddy in training. Whether it’s a park, trail, or backyard, Anchovie’s down to explore it with you.
Now, about fetch…
This dog could play ball forever. He doesn’t just chase it—he brings it back like a champ and stares at you like, “Again?”It’s basically his favorite sport, and trust me, your arm will get a workout.
When it’s time to chill, Anchovie knows how to relax. His crate is his comfort zone—his personal doggie man-cave—where he rests happily when we’re at work. No whining, no drama, just cozy naps and maybe a dream or two about fruit (he’s obsessed).
Bottom line?
Anchovie is a total catch. He’s smart, affectionate, playful, and full of personality. He just wants to be with his people and part of a loving pack. Any family lucky enough to adopt him will gain a loyal, goofy best friend—and we’ll definitely miss him (but we’re excited to see him find his own forever family.)
