Hi! I’m Lou, and I’m the sweetest girl on four legs! I’m a playful, happy English Pointer who loves life. When I’m really excited and happy, I “roooooo” and just show how happy I am.

I’ve completely recovered from heartworm treatment and am ready to put that chapter behind me and start living life to the fullest. I’m a wonderful house dog and have so many great qualities to offer my forever family.  I’m fully potty trained and use a doggie door like a pro. I haven’t had an accident in a very long time. I’m also great in my crate. I’m quiet, eat my meals in there, and settle in nicely. I don’t make a habit of destroying things, and I’m trusted to be loose in the house while my foster dad is at work. I even sleep loose at night!  I love playing with my foster sister, especially a good game of tug-of-war.

I’m respectful of fences and don’t try to jump over or dig under them. However, open gates and unsecured crate doors are invitations to go on an adventure! When I get loose, my ears turn off and my legs take over. I can run in just about any direction at full speed, so my forever family will need to be especially careful about doors, gates, and other escape opportunities.

I haven’t been around cats or children yet, and I do have a significant prey drive, so a home without small animals would likely be the best fit for me.  I can also have a sensitive tummy and occasionally throw up, although this happens much less often than it used to.

And then there are thunderstorms.  They are definitely not my favorite thing! I’ve come a long way with them, though. When I first arrived in foster care, I was so frightened that I even hurt myself trying to get out of my crate during a storm. These days, I’m much better, especially with a little “sleepy-time cheese” to help me relax. And one time, I even handled a storm without it!

So yes, I have a couple of quirks. But underneath them is a really wonderful, loving, playful girl who just wants to enjoy life and be part of a family.

If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, affectionate Pointer with a big personality and an even bigger heart, I might just be your girl!

Love,
Lou
