Meet Leo – 4-Year-Old Male Lemon & White English Pointer
Leo is a handsome 4-year-old English Pointer with a heart full of love and curiosity. He came from a hunting plantation in Georgia, where he wasn’t hunting consistently. Now, he’s ready to find a forever home where he can enjoy life as the loyal companion he was always meant to be.
After some time in foster care, Leo revealed a mild injury to his left front leg, likely tendon-related that the vet believes was a flare up of an old injury. With rest and anti-inflammatories, he has healed beautifully and no longer limps. While we can’t guarantee his leg won’t bother him in the future, he is currently active, playful, and full of energy.
This friendly boy gets along wonderfully with other dogs and adores people. He’s your shadow around the house, happily following you from room to room to see what’s happening. Leo loves playing ball or a game of “chuck it,” and true to his pointer instincts, he’ll proudly point the birds in the yard.
Leo is not a lap dog. At night, he prefers his own dog bed rather than snuggling on the couch. He has occasionally startled when suddenly woken from sleep, so a home without young children is best for his safety and comfort.
Leo is new to indoor living, having spent most of his life in an outdoor kennel, but he’s adjusting well and learning house manners quickly. He’s mostly housetrained, though he may have the occasional accident as he continues to learn. True to his pointer nature, Leo is persistent and intelligent—he can be a bit stubborn at times, but with consistent guidance, he’s eager to learn and please.
Leo is healthy and ready for his next chapter: he’s neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and recently had a dental cleaning.
What Leo needs in a forever home:
- Adults or teens only (no young children)
- Patient, loving environment as he adjusts to home life
- A dog-savvy companion or family to continue training and reinforce positive behaviors
- Space to play and enjoy his pointer instincts
Leo is a wonderful mix of affection, independence, and playful energy. He’s ready to become the devoted companion you’ve been waiting for. If you’re ready to welcome Leo into your life, he’ll follow you anywhere—just don’t expect him to snuggle!
