Buck is a very sweet, 5-year-old, small-framed (45-50 lb), black and white Pointer with a gentle disposition.  Buck is incredibly affectionate and loyal with people he knows, forming deep bonds with his trusted humans. While he’s a bit hesitant around strangers, a little patience and time allow his sweet, eager-to-please personality to shine through. 

Buck has two important health considerations: he’s successfully managing Addison’s disease with medication, and he takes Prozac to help with his anxiety, both of which are well controlled.  Because of this, he thrives in a calm, stable home with a predictable routine, where he can feel safe and secure. He’s not a fan of chaotic or unpredictable environments and can get anxious in new places, so a peaceful setting is ideal for him. 

Buck has excellent recall, is house-trained, and plays wonderfully with other dogs. He  loves car rides and is always excited to ride along to run errands.  He is very food motivated for treats and will happily share some popcorn with you.  He is an incredible retriever who lights up when you break out a ball for some fetch, and he will never give up on finding a lost ball once on the hunt.

Buck is looking for a patient, understanding family with a quiet, stable household.  Buck would do best in a calmer environment with another pet for play and companionship, and without small children (he is gentle with children, but high energy or chaotic situations do make him anxious).
