Jelly Bean is a handsome 55-pound, 8 month old, neutered male Pointer with a joyful spirit and a heart full of love. Affectionately called JB, this happy and fun-loving boy is looking for an active home where he can share his enthusiasm for life.

JB has a medium energy level, making him a great companion for families who enjoy regular activity but also appreciate a dog who can relax after some playtime. He loves spending time playing with toys, interacting with people, and romping with other dogs, so a home that enjoys engagement and companionship would suit him well.

This sweet boy is crate-trained and comfortable in his crate, which helps him settle nicely when it’s time to rest. He’s currently working on house training, and while he has almost mastered it, he may still have the occasional accident as he continues learning his routine.

JB is a social dog who does well with other dogs, even enjoying cuddles and naps with his canine friends. He’s also been around cats and tends to be indifferent toward them. He has not yet had supervised interactions with children, so slow

introductions would be recommended if kids are in the home. It is important to note that while he loves getting all the loving, he will sometimes place his mouth over your hand while you are petting him. He never bites down and is working on controlling his excitement through a firm “no” and redirection. However, this should be considered if there are small children in the home who might misunderstand his excitement.

Like many curious dogs, JB has a few habits he’s still polishing up. He may chew on inappropriate items if given the opportunity and is known to counter-surf, so continued training and supervision will help him learn good house manners. He has mostly mastered the “drop it” command. On leash, JB is above average—he can get distracted and sometimes pulls, but with consistent practice he should continue to improve.

JB has a high prey drive, which is typical for Pointers, so a home with secure fencing or attentive leash handling will help keep him safe when small critters catch his attention. His recall is good, but still a work in progress, especially when distractions are present, so continued training will be important.

The good news? JB is a great eater, has no known special needs, and does not appear to be sensitive to loud noises. Overall, he’s a healthy, affectionate dog who simply needs an active, loving home and a bit of continued guidance.

Jelly Bean’s ideal home would be with people who enjoy an active dog, can provide continued training, and are ready to welcome a playful, loving companion into their lives.

If you’re looking for a cheerful, affectionate Pointer who will keep you smiling, Jelly Bean might be your perfect match!
