Meet Ollie!

Ollie’s story is one of resilience and second chances. When he first came into rescue, he was underweight, anxious, and had some emotional baggage from his previous situation.. With love, care, and patience in foster, Ollie has blossomed into a happy, healthy, and spirited young pointer who’s ready to find his forever family.

Ollie has discovered the joys of being a pointer—chasing, pointing, and running with boundless enthusiasm (butterflies are a favorite!). He’s full of energy and would love an active home where he can play fetch, zoom around the yard, and keep busy with sturdy toys. He’s also hilariously entertaining, tossing his toys in the air, barking at them, and making his foster family laugh with his silly antics.

Life in a home is still new, but Ollie is catching on quickly. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and learning his manners every day. Like many young dogs, he sometimes gets into mischief if he hasn’t had enough exercise, so plenty of playtime is a must. He’s also a talker—barking to share his excitement, announce visitors, or comment on new things in his environment. (He’s not bothered by storms, though he will let the thunder know he hears it!)

With other dogs, Ollie takes time to build trust. He gets along very well with the dogs in his foster home, especially the younger pointer who matches his playful energy, and he’s respectful of the older ones. He’ll do best in a home with a friendly, easygoing canine companion—or as the center of attention in an active household.  Ollie will not do well in dog parks as he needs time to get to know his canine buddies.  He prefers a few friends that he knows and trusts over meeting a bunch of new ones frequently. Cats, however, are not a match for Ollie.

Ollie is smart, eager to please, and loves to learn. He already knows sit, down, touch, and inside, and he’s working on leash skills and recall. With consistent training, he’ll thrive, making him a great partner for someone looking to bond with an energetic and loyal dog. He hasn’t been formally tested in the field, but his strong nose and natural pointing instincts suggest he could be introduced to hunting with patience and proper guidance.

Ollie is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. He’s ready to leave his rough beginnings behind and start his next chapter with a family who will give him the love, activity, and guidance he deserves.

If you’re looking for a fun, active, and affectionate companion, Ollie is your guy!
