Well, howdy folks I’m Lady from Texas. I’m a gorgeous 4-year-old, black and white pointer registered with the Field Dog Stud Book.  My family loved me very much, but due to illness they devotedly surrendered me to PRO. 

From Sommerset, TX I relocated to Woodsboro, where I now live with a VERY BIG family!  The great news is, I get along very well with EVERYONE in my foster family and let me tell you, there are a lot of us – BIG dogs (4 GSP’s), LITTLE dogs (3 Pomeranians), a HERD of goats, a CLOWDER of cats, horses and then there are neighbor cows that live on the properties that surround us.  While I’ve been here, I got all my vaccinations updated and underwent heartworm treatment.  I’m now fully recovered from heartworms and from spay surgery. I’m now ready to find my furever home!

As a young dog I was sent to a trainer to learn to be a hunting dog.  I showed some gun shyness during my training, so it was cut short, but my foster family has helped me work through that leveraging my strong prey drive and interest in birds to help me positively relate the sound of the shot to the excitement of the bird taking flight. Because I wasn’t fully trained to be a steady pointer, I was used mostly as a dove-retrieving dog, however an experienced upland hunter, with patience could take me in any direction.  I DO LOVE hunting.

I’m a very active and loving girl.  I like running around with the other dogs but would do fine as an only dog too – I’m happy with just my people.  I know how to sit, kennel, heel while on leash and I have a solid recall.  Due to the high level of energy, I have, I need my own fenced yard or a family with an active lifestyle, even if not a hunting family, that would take me on outings for exercise and play time. I’ve never met a stranger and adore people of all sizes.

A note from my foster mom:  Lady is a lovely girl and has been one of the easiest fosters to care for that has come to stay with us, she immediately fit into our family.  Her family loved her, and it shows; she’s a gentle girl who has been treated with love and kindness.  She would make a great companion for a family with an active lifestyle or a wonderful hunting partner for the hunter who has the patience to continue her training properly and caringly.
