Jake is a 1-3 yr old male Pointer and is an incredibly gentle and pleasant pup. He gets along with his fellow foster 4 yr old Buck and his new 7 yr old Pointer friend Clyde. He’s perfect in the house – no accidents, no chewing or jumping up and is content in his crate overnight (although he does occasionally try sneaking up on the bed on the way to his crate). Jake was a bit timid when introduced to rides in the truck and his first vet visit, but has a very adaptable personality, adjusts very well to new situations, readily approaches people and gently nuzzles up for attention, and now loves hopping in the truck for rides.

Jake is doing well on loose leash walking, sitting for treats and feedings, and waiting to be called by name before going in and out of the door. When off-lead outdoors, he’s very attentive and stays with people or other dogs. Jake is doing well on recall and always comes back to your general area, but occasionally pretends he doesn’t know his name if he’s close by but distracted. Jake loves playing fetch, but generally keeps his ball after the first toss and carries it with him as he runs along with the other dogs while they fetch and bring their balls back for another throw. He hasn’t been swimming yet but is comfortable running out on docks, taking boat rides, and splashing into chest deep water playing with other dogs. Jake has plenty of energy running and playing in the yard, but is incredibly gentle and calm in the house – he has a very Labrador or golden retriever personality. He will make an all-around fun and loving companion.
